> Loosing. . .

Ack! I'm not a pedant, I'm really not ;->
but this is a bugaboo of mine.

"Losing" is the word you want (if you mean discarding, or misplacing). If you're making an analogy with untying shoelaces, then "loosing" (as in "letting loose") might be the correct word, but I suspect that's not what you mean. ;->

Sorry, I just had to say it. Don't hate me.

Speaking of boxes and getting out of them -- I wonder if you've ever heard of this guy: Dan Pearce, who has a blog called "Single Dad Laughing".
http://www.danoah.com/

He's not gay, but he is ex-Mormon and twice divorced, and is raising a little boy. He made a big splash a while ago with this post (which is how I ran into him):

You might enjoy some of his other "serious" posts too; e.g.,

I just want to say that I am right now going through exactly what you talk about here, and it is so helpful to know I'm not alone and that there are those who embrace their homosexuality while still trying to live a structured moral life. I, like you, wish to find someone with a similar background ( gay Mormon) to shre a life with. How do you find gay Mormons to date? It is such an underground world. I also apreciate what you have said about setting your own rules and still living up to your values and beliefs to the best of your ability. Thanks so muh for the posts and videos. I have to ask... Are you dating anyone? :)

@Brian- Finding gay Mormons in Utah is easy haha. Find a gay guy in Utah and there is a good chance he is/was Mormon. Check out corinvictus.com. Honestly, you just have to meet one and then you are introduced to their friends. Then they introduce you to their friends, etc. Where do you live?

I am dating someone, but he isn't Mormon. He grew up here in Utah and his extended family is Mormon, but his immediate family isn't religious. He's Christian though and went to LDS church with his grandparents and friends. He knows Mormon culture. His mom was exed when she moved in with the man who is now her husband. Her cousin was Stewart Matis if you are familiar with that story.

Thanks for the response. I live in Centerville but I'm looking to move somewhere else in the valley. I am just barely coming to terms with this whole thing myself, so I guess I'm just new to the game. I also have a one semester study abroad left before I get my degree from BYU so that complicates things as well.

Wow - your posts and videos brought back memories of when I lived in Provo (1975!), attended BYU and struggled with coming out. After much prayer and discernment I, too, chose to leave the church. Thank you for being so open and honest in such a loving way. These qualities will serve you well.
